When you are ready for a serious compressor, the Sacred Fire is a great choice!

Part of the Rocktron Boutique Series, the Sacred Fire Compressor was designed to complement the professional line of road warrior stomp boxes with solid performance aspects.

Reliable function and the ability to protect your tone while providing the best compression is what the Sacred Fire is all about! This compressor offers smooth dynamic attack and release.

Controls include GAIN for controlling the Output level (makeup gain) after compression is applied. THRESHOLD controls the level at which compression is performed. SACRED FIRE control determines the amount of compression applied when the threshold has been reached.

The concept of a compressor is to make loud sounds softer and soft sounds louder, letting you avoid peaks in the sound and providing a means to keep the volume even. For guitar, you want a consistent volume level across all strings.

A good compressor will also provide more sustain. As a plucked string’s volume dies out, the Sacred Fire will provide automatic gain control to keep the volume of the note(s) at a constant level.

You can achieve lush and richer sounds when combining the Sacred Fire with other effects such as chorus and flanger. When playing chords without distortion (clean), the sustain control helps all the strings become clearer and more distinct while the overall sound will ring with a similar volume level. The Sacred Fire will allow you to hear every note, even more of a desire when using 7-string guitars or guitars with heavy gauge strings.

Sustain is an important part of your playing, and using Rocktron’s Sacred Fire Compressor will help you achieve more powerful sustain, especially for your high tones.

The Sacred Fire is best when placed in your signal after your guitar or bass, before other processing.

Like all of Rocktron’s Boutique Series stomp boxes, the Sacred Fire comes in a rugged metal chassis with eye popping retro custom laser etched artwork. This is a TRUE BYPASS pedal: when you turn it off, it is out of your signal path!

The Sacred Fire runs on a 9V Alkaline battery, or you may use the Rocktron DC OnTap Universal Power Supply.

Starting with the Ultimate Speaker Demo, an ever-increasing number of the GearTunes audio  clips are being tracked using the Radial JCR Reamp. The Reamp was invented by my good friend and colleague John Cuniberti who engineered/co-produced many of Joe Satriani's most infamous recordings.

For GearTunes, reamping allows me to record a track where the guitar "hears" the amp in the room, but initially only the guitar or guitar and effects signal is recorded. This allows me to spend additional time perfecting amp tones and mic placement once I have the performance I'm looking for. One of the byproducts of this process is the creation of GearTunes DI Clips which enable you to play select guitars and effects through your amp by using your mobile device or computer as a reamp device.

For GearTunes DI Clips - and Gear Tune DI Clips ONLY (always found under the DI clips tab for gear that has one), you can play our guitar and effects through your amp. Simply use an unbalanced cable that terminates with an 1/8th inch jack on one end and a 1/4 inch jack on the other. Connect the 1/8th jack to the output of your mobile device or computer and the 1/4 inch jack into the front of your amp. Start off with your amp volume at zero and your mobile device (or computer) volume all the way up to ensure you hit the front end of the amp with enough signal, and then gradually increase the volume of the clean channel on your amp until you reach a level that is not capable of causing damage to your ears or equipment. GearTunes accepts no liability for the use, abuse or misuse of these clips, and playing them into your amp is done exclusively at your own risk.

I am tremendously excited about being able to share GearTunes DI Clips with you as you journey on your quest to find right gear for the music you play! Cheers ~ Doug:)
